Lendlease introduces 26 weeks paid parental leave

  • 14 Apr 2023
Lendlease has introduced a new paid parental leave scheme for its employees in Australia that provides both primary and secondary carers 26 weeks paid leave, recognising the importance of a workplace that is accessible, inclusive, and supportive for all parents.

The 26 weeks paid leave is in addition to the Federal Government’s current 18 weeks paid leave for primary carers and is available with a no wait period for new starters, people already on parental leave and employees who become parents through adoption or surrogacy. Importantly, it removes the primary and secondary carer labels, providing all parents with the support and flexibility to spend time with family.

The enhanced parental leave entitlements also include extended compassionate leave for families who have experienced pregnancy loss, in addition to superannuation payments paid during the first 12 months of leave.

The new scheme is just one of a number of industry-leading employee benefits available at Lendlease, including three paid health and well-being days per year, cultural holiday swap program, overseas remote working for up to four weeks, and domestic and family violence leave of 20 paid days per year.

Quotes attributable to Dale Connor, CEO Lendlease Australia

The Federal Government’s paid parental leave scheme will increase to 20 weeks from 1 July 2023.
